Entebbe, Uganda – On Monday, March 24, 2025, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni welcomed a high-profile delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) led by H.E. Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, at State House in Entebbe. The meeting highlighted the strengthening ties between Uganda and the UAE, with discussions focusing on areas of mutual interest, as well as broader regional and international issues.

The UAE delegation included notable figures such as H.E. Abdalla Hassan Obaid Alshamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Uganda, among others. This visit underscored the commitment both nations have to fostering diplomatic and cooperative relations.

President Museveni was accompanied by key Ugandan government officials, including the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Okello Oryem; the Attorney General, Hon. Kiryowa Kiwanuka; and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Vincent Bagiire. Their attendance emphasized Uganda’s dedication to engaging with the UAE on various matters.
